Menopause is a natural stage in life. Menopause marks the time when a woman’s period stop as her ovaries run out of eggs or stop producing eggs. Menopause usually occurs in a woman’s early 50s but can happen earlier. 

Although the symptoms may go on for a number of years menopause is said to have taken place  woman has not had a period for 12 months.

 

Symptoms of menopause 

Each woman is different and will respond to menopause in her own Way. Changes can be physical and emotional. 

 

Apart from changes in the menstrual cycle  , what are some of the other symptoms of menopause?

  • Hot flushes and night sweats
  • Headaches or dizziness
  • Vagina dryness
  • Difficulty in sleeping
  • Mood swings
  • Memory problems
  • Loss of interest in sex
  • Weight gain 

 

What can You do to stay healthy after menopause?

A healthy lifestyle can help you make the best of the years after menopause.

  • Eating a balanced diet will help you stay healthy before, during, and after menopause. Be sure to include enough calcium and vitamin D in your diet to help maintain strong bones.
  • Exercise Regularly to improve your overall health with walking,  exercises to strengthen your muscles and bones and Balance training
  • Visit your doctor to have  regular exams and check even if you are not sick, this can help detect problems early.
